46-Hour Week Challenge

September 11, 2007 Posted by Tyler Cruz

6-weeks ago I challenged myself to a 45-hour week challenge to see if I could force myself to work 45-hours within 7 days. I even put money up for grabs as more incentive.

The challenge was based on my earlier 40-hour week challenge to see if I was able to work a standard 40-hours in a week, however these new money-incentivized challenges are now more to just get me to simply work very hard for a week.

It may seem silly (as it probably is) to most readers out there, but when I do these challenges I get so much done that it isn’t funny. I typically do more work in one of these weeks than I do in an entire month. The compactedness (if you will) of the conditions also means that I’m forced to work longer stretches of hours which means I tend to get work done that requires those long hours… work that I usually put off or procrastinate on.

Anyhow, I managed to meet my 45-hours last time, but just barely, so this new challenge will definitely be close.

My new challenge, then, is to work 46-hours within 7 days which is one hour more than last time. And I’m even going to increase the prize money as well. The first 5 people who comment on this post will receive $25 each if I do not make the 46-hours by September 18th at 9:30am.

Please leave your PayPal address or if you don’t want to disclose that publicly you can e-mail it to me from the same e-mail that you have attached to your account here.

For those not familiar with these challenges of mine, you will be quite surprised how much work I get done. I’ll have many posts backlogged for my blog and my sites will flourish as a result of my hard work. You’ll see…. (hopefully)!

Anyhow, wish me luck. The next 7-days will be pure hell.

I wish you the best of luck. Unlike the guy above me, I hope you do make it, but if you don’t, I won’t be too upset. πŸ˜›

  6. First off your a pain in the ass for making me register to comment on your blog. I swore i would never make an account on a blog just to comment. Now look at me.

I just recently took the step of quitting my job and working online full time. My work schedule is completely random. Some days I will not feel like doing a thing and other days I will work for 10 hours straight. I think it evens out in the end.

I set similar goals for myself. They help alot, although mine are a little different. If i get all my work done i sit back and smoke a blunt. I guess its whatever will work for you.. But setting such goals is definately a good thing.

I wish you good luck Tyler. I should really give myself a challenge like this, but I’d pobably not meet my goals :).

The Swiss_Mouse needs to call in sick for a couple of days and work steadily on the Cheddarblog.

Right now it is a post “real” work pursuit that he can NOT find enough time to properly work on. He needs to dedicate some specific time to it and build a backlog of posts and a plan for promotion.

But if he did say home he probably wouldn’t work, he’d sit back eat cheese and watch reruns of CHiPs.

    • I was curious as to why your comment was in 3rd person pov. Then i looked at the blog and every post is like that too. Its nice to see someone try something a little different, although i couldnt really see myself reading it on a daily basis.

      • Swiss_Mouse says:

Ah, thank you. The Swiss_Mouse has made it a point of pride to be “slightly different”. The Swiss_Mouse wonders if the blog itself is unreadable on a daily basis or if the 3rd mouse point of view distressing to read? Hmmm…
        No matter, followed your link.
Clogged Johns are the bane of the modern world! The Swiss_Mouse hails you for trying to inform the internet populate about how to fix this evil threat to western civilization! Cheddar to you!
