Last Chance to Sponsor My Upcoming Contest

Here’s your last chance to put up a prize and become one the contest’s sponsors, as I plan to launch the contest next week. My goal is to launch it on November 1st, so if you’re interested in putting up a prize, please contact me ASAP.
The contest will run for 2 months and is completely webmaster/online entrepreneur based.
I am not revealing the details of the contest here as I want for it to be a little bit of a surprise when it does launch, so if you’re interested in being a sponsor and want to know more information, you can e-mail me at tyler@tylercruz.com or through my contact form and I’ll provide you with all the details.
While being a sponsor by giving out a prize does not suit everyone (for example, I never sponsor anything with my blog because the only prize I could give out is cash) it is usually a fantastic opportunity to anyone where it does not actually cost them anything or very little. For example, if you’re a WordPress plugin developer, it doesn’t actually cost you anything to give out a few free copies, so in a sense it is free advertising.
Examples of Prizes I’m Looking For
While I know that a lot of you are very giving, I do have to be a bit careful in the types of prizes that I accept for sponsorship. As a contest participant, there’s nothing that dissuades me from competing in a contest more than unappealing prizes.
For example, I am not interested in giving out “coupons” such as discounts or two-for-one offers; they should be completely free prizes with no strings attached.
Please note that I am looking for prizes that would be webmaster, business, or online entrepreneur related, although I’d accept unrelated prizes if they are big enough.
Also, please note that I am only interested in accepting prizes that are worth at least $25+ and no E-Books please!
Good Examples
- Cash
- Physical products/merchandise (Ex. Cameras, iPad, etc.)
- Services such as web design, programming, etc.
- Website plugins, scripts, or licenses
- Free advertising
Poor Examples
- Discounts, coupons, special “offers”
- E-books
- Free advertising on a low-traffic site
- Unrelated prizes (Ex. X-Men action figurine)
Also, if you know of any companies, freelancers, or websites that might be interested in sponsoring the contest, please let them know about the contest or contact me and I’ll contact them myself 
Confirmed Sponsors So Far
With just the one blog post I published, I actually received quite a lot of responses, so that was encouraging.
Unfortunately, some sponsors who were very interested in donating some prizes got in contact with me and were all ready to go, but then disappeared for some reason. Apart from being a bit odd, it is also unfortunate since some of those were pretty good prizes.
I currently have a total of 11 sponsors for the contest, with 32 prizes valued at a total of $2,202. I am hoping to be able to launch the contest with $4,000 worth of prizes, which is why I’m looking for some more sponsors before I launch the contest.
32 prizes? thats a lot, but I suggest you better have some real attention grabbing prizes that are big. That way I think you will get more participants! You will run the contest for 2 months, I don’t think there are a lot of people that want to ‘work’ for 2 months to win 1 or 2 of these prizes, get my point?
If there is a number 1 prize like an camera or ipad, that for sure the extra’s are good 🙂
The prizes will be package prizes, where you win a number of prizes in each package.

With that many prizes, I think it really limits the benefits for advertisers to donate prizes. Each individual prize & donor would get only a very small mention.

You really should reveal more details of the contest when looking for sponsors. I know I wouldn’t sponsor some contest without knowing what the contest is even about. For all we know, it could just be a bust like your business card contests.

You blog once every two weeks and you are planning to run a contest?
I was questioning how this blog would support that kind of contest too. I see that it’s actually for his publisher forum though. So it makes sense that he would announce it here to get some additional exposure.
It is good when put some guideline for something that to be sponsor. Most people will offer FREE ebook and advertising at low traffic site. This kind of thing make people think many time to join in because they felt it is not worth it =)

I shoot shotguns for competitions and im getting good and i want to know how i can get some good sponsirs to help pay for the ammo and other needed stuff. any one have any info on how to get a sponsorship? other than waiting for someone to offer one. thanx
