Cheap Landing Pages from LPWhiz

June 4, 2008 Posted by Tyler Cruz

The following is a paid review and is completely of my own opinion and is not influenced by being paid. If you’re interested in having me review your site or product, please view my advertising page.

Affiliate marketers have the luxury of not needing an established website in order to make tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars. Generally what they actually end up using for the most part are landing pages.

A landing page is simply a page that is custom-built with related graphics and ad text to encourage and entice the visitor to proceed forward to the product or service.

While landing pages are not difficult to make, they do involve a bit of Photoshop and basic HTML knowledge. However, since affiliate marketers often promote a wide spectrum of products and offers, their need for new landing pages often makes the time and effort building them rather labourous.

111

Enter LPWhiz.com, a basic membership-based website for affiliate marketers. For a monthly price of $29.99, members get access to 20-sets of landing pages. Each “set” includes:

  • A Fully coded HTML landing page
  • Sample/Suggestive Ad Copies for PPC Advertising Sites such as AdWords
  • 150+ Related Keywords
  • List of Related Affiliate Offers and their payouts

The Ad Copy, Keyword, and Related Affiliate Offer lists are all in Excel format so you’ll need Excel or a program that can read .XLS files in order to view them.

I will describe each of the above in more detail below:

Landing Pages

Unfortunately (but also obviously for the price), the landing pages are not custom-made to your request, but are pre-made by requests from members in the private forums.

Generally, LPWhiz tries to produce landing pages for the most popular offers out there, but if you request landing pages for an offer or two they will most likely acknowledge your request.

If you did want a specially-made landing page, LPWhiz also provides a separate design service where you can get an exclusive design which will not be shared with other members. They charge $35 per exclusive custom-built landing page with a 48-hour turnaround time from the time of order.

LPWhiz provides the 20 landing page packages in two sets of 10. The first set is available on the 1st of every month and the second set is available on the 15th.

112

It should be noted that the landing pages are actual landing pages built around the specific product or offer and aren’t actual website templates with areas for sub-pages and content. They are extremely basic pages which don’t leave a lot of room (if any) for customization.

One possible caveat with LPWhiz’s landing pages is that they don’t contain a form on them to send direct sign-up leads or e-mail/Zip submits. This could partly be because of the actual offers they were promoting (which might not allow for form data/direct leads) and so it is difficult to say if they do or not. In any case, it would certainly be recommended to LPWhiz that they strongly consider offering such embedded forms, however.

The actual landing pages are of pretty decent quality. Below are three of the landing pages that I downloaded:

113

114

115

When you break it down, you’re actually getting each landing page for $1.50 which is pretty amazing, and that’s not including the other little goodies you get with them as well.

As you might expect, the offers come pre-built-in with the owner’s own affiliate URLs on the links, but that’s not really an issue since you would be changing them anyhow.

Ad Copy

Along with each landing page you also receive around 3-4 Ad Copy’s which can be used with PPC networks such as AdWords and Microsoft Ad Center. The suggested ads are always directly related to the offer and are actually pretty good.

However, there are typically only 3-4 ads provided which, while they can help you brainstorm and give you some ideas, aren’t really a lot to be considered that useful.

The ad copy is really more suited for beginners who are new to the PPC advertising game. In that respect, the ad copy is really quite useful for helping them get started, but will be pretty useless for most experienced affiliate marketers.

117

Keyword Lists

Each landing page package contains a list of related keywords to the particular product/offer. There is usually a minimum of 150 keywords per landing page, but some contain as many as 300.

The actual keywords are pretty decent and most range in the 3-word range, although there are some 4-5 word keywords as well.

While the targeted keywords are certainly a useful resource, the accompanying keyword list’s actual value is greatly diminished since there are many free keyword tools available such as Aaron Wall’s SEO Book Keyword Suggestion Tool.

118

Related Affiliate Offers

Lastly, each landing page package contains a list of available offers for the corresponding landing page.

The list separates related offers by network and includes the offer number for easy reference as well as the payout.

116

The affiliate offer is a nice idea and fairly handy, but most serious affiliate marketers will search for the offers themselves or ask their affiliate manager to make sure they are finding the best deal. Also, payouts do change from time to time so the lists will only be up-to-date for so long.

Affiliate Program

LPWhiz has an affiliate program which offers 40% commission on all sales recurring for life. Therefore, if you refer a member who purchases a membership ($29.99 a month), you’ll receive $12 instantly. If the member renews their membership the following month, you’ll receive another $12 until the member cancels their subscription.

The 40% payout for life is very generous and is how affiliate programs should be! Ironically, you need to be a member in order to use their affiliate program. I’d strongly recommend for them to let anyone become an affiliate… it only hurts them to limit affiliate access to current paying members!

More Information

LPWhiz is brand new (I think my special account to review the site was the 4th member), and so there are a lot of things that could be improved.

I would strongly suggest that LPWhiz provide more samples of their landing pages on their site. Currently, there is only a single landing page to look at. LPWhiz actually creates pretty decent landing pages so they should not be timid to share their work. Doing so would greatly increase the possibility of luring in new members.

Similarly, they should also provide samples of the keyword, ad copy, and related affiliate offers lists so that prospective members know exactly what is up for grabs.

I would also ease up on the aggressive sales copy and hyperbolic statements as it’s generally not wise to try to con a con-man (oversell something online to somebody who sells things online for a living).

LPWhiz could also generally work a lot on their professionalism. There are numerous typo’s and grammatical errors on the site, which is inexcusable when a site has very limited text. Another example of how there is a lack of professionalism is when I opened up one of the Related Affiliate Offers lists, it actually said (ver batim):

“Please check separate section at Neverblueads and incentaclick for good converting programs”

…which is pretty ludicrous. An improved design of their site would also be strongly welcomed.

There is a forum planned for members, but is still under construction and not available yet.

Conclusion

Landing pages are pretty much a prerequisite for PPC affiliate marketers, and new ones are constantly needed as new offers present themselves.

For the price of $29.99 per month, LPWhiz offers a pretty good solution for those seeking landing pages of popular offers. After all, it works out to $1.50 per landing page. While the landing pages are pre-determined insofar as what offer they are custom-built to, members are more than welcome to suggest and request offers for future landing pages.

The “extras” that come with each landing page such as the keyword and ad copy lists actually provide very little added value since the keywords can generated for free online, ad copy can easily be created by affiliate marketers, and the related affiliate offers list is most likely not widely used by most users since they will search by themselves.

However, I can certainly see how the “extras” would be useful for beginning PPC affiliate marketers.

One very real concern with the whole idea of LPWhiz is the issue of competition. Since the landing pages are available to all the members, and the accompanying extras all contain the same keywords, ad copy, and suggested offers, it creates the very real problem of supersaturating the offers since all other LPWhiz members will have the EXACT same information as you, thus competing directly against you.

With all that being said, membership is only $29.99 per month and in exchange you are given access to 20 landing pages per month which works out to $1.50 per landing page. If you’re looking for a source of extremely cheap coded landing pages, then you may want to consider becoming a member of LPWhiz.

The affiliate program seems great. For just one referral you’d get $12 a month, but with a few more that would quickly add up for a stable, monthly income. Too bad you have to be a paying member though.

Haha, in your paragraph about typos you made two errors yourself….

Yes, as stated, I find this inexcusable when a site has very limited text to begin with.

There’s no excuse when the site has only a few pages of static text. I write tens of thousands of words per month and am not selling a product or service so I think I am given some leeway.. πŸ˜‰

  4. Thanks for the post about LPWhiz. I am glad I stumbled upon your blog, looks like you have some good information about affiliate marketing which is the next step I want to take in online marketing! Thanks again Tyler

  5. What is the benefit of staying longer than one month? why not just pay your money, download everything and cancel your subscription?

How often are new ones released?

  6. Kyle says:

New ones are released ever 2 weeks. So every 2 week you would get 10 landing pages to download. So you could do what you are talking about..but it would have no real point bc you already paid the $30 for that month and got the landing pages. Next month you can pay $30 and get another 20 landing pages.

  7. Wow I’m going to use this for my landing pages thanks tyler great post!

Thanks for sharing your knowledge and experience Tyler, I’m to read your post today πŸ™‚

I have a question, that is if there are 100 members and each one having the same landing pages that is the one made in any particular month, they all will be using those templates of landing pages, some will be just putting it as it is or some will change the content too, what do you think will be the effect of same landing page and content used by lets say; 20 members out of 100 ??

    Waiting for your reply

    Regards,
    Muneeb

  9. Binary Ant says:

But a landing page made of images with little text is not bad for Quality Score?

I also think like Muneeb about lots identical landing pages out there.

Being in competition with lpwhiz I guess my opinion will slighly be biased πŸ™‚ But I have gone down a similar route a little before lpwhiz was created.

I have designed and coded a selection of landing pages which are available to buy instantly, although I have limited each design to be sold only 10 times reducing the competition.

It’s a tricky thing to get into at first because obviously people will want unique custom landing pages which is why you have the option to get one if required, for a slightly higher price.

  11. Flimjo says:

I see the same problem with the competition. If a bunch of people choose the same landing pages, eventually no one will be making any money. The only thing that will catapult someone over a competitor will be good keywords and SEO.

  12. LP Creations says:

I agree within reason to what you are saying, if hundreds of people were to use the same landing page it would make it a lot harder to beat your competition. Saying this I think anything over around 15-20 would affect your campaign.

I’m not trying to promote my site or anything but I think if 10 people were to have the same landing page it wouldn’t really give the affiliate marketer any disadvantage.

For example if you were to hire a landing page designer to make you a landing page on a niche, chances are that if they have made one in the past on the same niche it will be very similar, a designer usually bases their designs on previous ones that work πŸ™‚

  13. The idea of custom-made landing pages is where they should focus their business which would seem more profitable and useable by other affiliate marketers who don’t want the same landing pages as everyone else!

  14. DotDriven says:

I like the idea but mostly just because of the cheap landing pages. But giving the same set of pages to a group of people pretty much defeats the purpose and kills any chance to have a good campaign. It’s already tough enough to fight out “regular” competition for decent offers and it’s already hard to keep keyword cost down. Can you imagine how much harder it would be to have, say, 50 new affiliates all bidding on the exact same offer against each other, most likely using the exact same landing pages without any additions, just pretty much killing each others profit.

You end up with 50 people with great looking landing pages who lose a bunch of money because they are all bidding against each other.

Even if limited to something like 5 or 10 members per pack would probably make it too hard to compete since there are already plenty of other affiliates on most offers.

I LOVE the idea of getting package deals for landing pages but just can’t see how getting the exact same pages that a bunch of other people will be getting an promoting would be useful…and of course, as mentioned, all the “bonus” stuff just makes having unique campaigns even less likely.

What I would want instead myself…

If they could offer bulk packs of landing pages that I get to pick the niche/offer. Say, for example, I am allowed to pick 10 offers/niches a month and they build me pages that are only for me. They could use basic templates to save time and then just customize each one as they see which offers you want. It would take more time and be a bit more work but it would be a huge benefit for the page buyers and odds are they would stay customers for a long time. The way it is now, they may get a bunch of people to try the first month but quit soon after once they see how much they lose because they are all fighting over bids on the exact same offer.

  15. Apoorv says:

LPWhiz is a real great website for the landing page creations, I will surely place an order with them if I need any landing pages, Nicely written review πŸ™‚

  16. DotDriven says:

    Meant to add…

Another option to make it usable for the members is to give the “bulk” pages which they can save up test later but also include a few custom/unique pages in their membership. So maybe everyone gets 10 bulk pages and then gets to request 3 unique pages each month. That way at least they have 3 offers they can work campaigns on right away without tons of new instant competitors but then they can go back to the bulk packs months down the line when others may have stopped using them to have a bit less direct competition.

I’d pay for something like that…and STAY a member because it would be useful then πŸ˜‰

  17. Jason says:

How much do you expect to get for $30? Damn.

People want too much and expect to pay too little.

  18. Red Johnson says:

    Tyler,

I would love to run some of these landing pages through a tool I use called Glyphius. I’e been struggling with developing my own online sales letters — the copy for landing pages. Well I actually had the copy out there, but not doing well on conversions.

If finally came across a copywriting analysis tool, called Glyphius. I has improved my conversions tremendously.

It allows you to analyze you copy line by line. Then you can make adjustments to see if the change improves your

score. I’ve just started using it and my conversions are up from 1.1% to 2. 75% in the first week. Check it out if

    you wish…

  19. Freddy says:

Yeah, those “typo’s” bother me, too. (:o)

  20. Melvin Williams says:

One of the best affiliate programs I have seen thus far…

    “Glyphius – copywriters best friend”

  21. Won’t there be duplicate problems with everyone using the same templates?

  22. Has anyone actually tried using these landing pages?

  23. DO NOT USE LPWHIZ!

I have been trying to get them to respond to my order for over 3+ weeks…they are a fraud shop!!!!

I placed a custom landing page order after signing up for the monthly LPWhiz service (an additional ($30-$40 USD)

I have received 2 promises of the pages being completed within 24 hours and nothing is ever sent or delivered…I also paid them ahead of delivery and as expected nothing has been completed in over 3 weeks.

    On their site they claim:
“Price is Just 35$ per landing page. Turnaround will be 48 hours from the time of order. Please place a order using paypal button below and leave a message to helpdesk using the tool above.”

Seriously these guys don’t respond to over 10+ email requests and over 10+ helpdesk queries in 3 weeks, and I have been now forced to file Fraud charges on my Credit Card and PayPal (such a pain in the a*s).

STAY FAR FAR AWAY – THESE GUYS ARE PURE SCAMMERS!!!!!

Tyler have you had good luck with them? They are really putting me and my business in a tough position….

WARNING TO ALL AFFILIATES AND TYLER CRUZ READERS!!!!!! LP WHIZ HAS SCAMMED ME!

  24. LP Creations says:

I haven’t really heard much about them other than there initial sales pitch, they seem to have died away on the advertisements on jonny volk and uber affiliate.

If you are still after a unique request you can check out my site to see if I could be of use.

  25. accounts says:
