What’s Next For My Blog?

November 28, 2017 Posted by Tyler Cruz

So my 30 posts have all been completed and I haven’t posted in 2 weeks.

“Ah shit, not again. Is he going to abandon us for another 1.5 years again?”

Well, I thought about it, and despite my blog not resurrecting like I had hoped it would, it did show some growth, and so I decided to do exactly what I did before and write another 30 drafts and then schedule them all.

I recorded a very short video to talk about this, and also reveal an interesting piece of news. You’ll have to watch the video to find out what this is:

As you know I’ve been around here a lot of years now. Frankly I would much rather have a post every few days rather than another long “sit and wait” time period. If you are doing one or two posts per day, you should start releasing the 9 posts already in the queue every 3 days … that would take you out 27 days into the future, during which time you would have written at least 25 or 30 more posts … so there would be no “valley of death” period.

Also, assuming some of the future posts are about your new website, you are sure to get comments that will give you thoughts about changes, reasons for your logic and tactics, etc. When you go into writing hibernation mod for 30 days or more, the resulting posts seem quite stale.

But power on, buddy, I haven’t stopped reading yet.

    • Tyler Cruz says:

Yeah I know what you’re saying, but I really like the idea of being able to 100% promise a new blog post every X days for X amount of time. Plus, the wait shouldn’t be as long as last time, as last time I was dealing with coming back to blogging after 1.5 years and needed to do a lot of cleaning up and catching up with things.

  2. Jason H says:

Tyler spent 20k on votesy, and even more on a robot fighting browser game. He obviously knows what hes doing. Oh wait, he makes money on fiverr now.

Hey tyler maybe you should pull your head out of your @ss and start listening to people. You obviously have no idea what you’re doing.

  3. Wesley says:

Invest that $500 in cryptocurrency and you’ll probably have a bigger ROI. Why aren’t you looking at crypto’s? There is no minimum investment.

  4. Dave says:

I’m willing to bet a great deal of $ that these 30 posts are never completed

  5. Paul B says:

Do yourself a favour and go and get a normal job. No offense but you got lucky with a few sites and some PPC when the web was still the wild west…things have moved on, you haven’t.

Get a job, your stress levels will go down, your health will pick up and if you want you can mess around online building for pocket money without the pressure.

Listen to the voice of experience…including the ear problems 🙂

Next party I have, I’m inviting Jason H, Dave and Paul B.

    • Dave says:

      I won’t come.

      • Paul G says:

You sure? It’s The Pessimist’s Ball 2017, you were going to be our guest of honor.

        • Dave says:

I’m an optimistic person. I’ve been reading Tyler’s blog for years and years. I guess I find it frustrating how he never seems to follow through on anything. For instance – he tried to learn Android programming for a few weeks and quit because he ran into one part that he didn’t understand. I kept with programming for years before I finally got it.

In fact, Tyler was on the verge of quitting this blog before he decided to do another 30 posts. Like what do you expect – thousands of people to come flooding back immediately? It takes time.

Tyler is a smart person with a terrible work ethic. I’m not the only one who feels this way.

          • Andrew says:

That’s all concerning, but my thing is the shadiness. Years ago he said something about realizing he’d inaccurately thought his traffic was twice what it actually was, and I asked him if he offered any kind of refund to the private ads he’d sold on poker forums, and he didn’t answer, which I take as an admission that he’d essentially ripped some people off.

That, and the fact that most of those Twitter followers are clearly bought. That’s pretty suss all by itself, but the fact that he actually wrote that blog post about it where he argued it wasn’t “buying” them because he bought some kind of “tokens” from the service and then used the token to acquire followers, was totally ridiculous. That either indicates blatantly dishonest, or he’s in total denial about it, and neither is great.

That’s the problem with someone who tries to make money by being famous *for* making money: they ignore criticism, they make ridiculous excuses, and they never *really* level with people or talk honestly about it all.

    • Paul B says:

Maybe Tyler should look to see when all his health issues kicked off and how that ties in with his “empire” going tits up? He aint breaking new ground here, it’s a well established pattern, nothing to do with pessimism, the lad needs help.

Some stability will do him the world of good and let him get his head straight…and if you don’t think he needs to get his head straight then you’re reading different posts and watching different videos to me.

  7. […] no longer relevant, you give off a sense of not really being on top of your company. If you have a blog page which hasn’t been updated in a number of weeks or months, it makes it seem like you don’t […]

  8. Brandon Hirst says:

Keep checking back for more but its been at 13 posts for a while. Can you drip them at one a week for 13 weeks giving you over 3 months of something some what consistent content while you’re able to work on the other posts? Used to love reading the blog but it sucks seeing no content and 13 posts in the cue.
