Vegas BlogWorld Trip Day 2, Part 2

Sorry - here’s another quick update from day 2. I had more video and didn’t want it to go to waste so I thought I’d edit and post them here.

It will also buy me time to finish editing the video from day 3. Here’s a short description of what the video entails; it all takes place after we finished looking at the houses:

John driving us to Caesar’s Palace along the strip from the Hilton, us walking around Caesar’s Palace, John showing me the location where he poked the model statue girl in one of his past video posts; a shot of the Trojan horse in front of the toy store - John and I climbed up it (which isn’t shown), and we played with the toys inside for a bit; John getting eating by a dinosaur, more walking, one of the regular repeating shows (with fire and animatronics), the famous fountains in front of the Bellagio at night, and walking billboards.

The music that was pumped out of those giant speakers in front of the Bellagio output the loudest music I’ve ever heard. Granted, I’ve never been to a rock concert, but my ears were absolutely stinging walking past that!

This really shows how bad the flip mino is, almost unwatchable when you don’t hold it stable.

Isn’t the blog world expo over now? How come you are only on day 2. I don’t mean to be rude it just seems a little strange

Did you read the post? He is editing the videos before he puts them up. Give the man some time, he is also in Vegas which he means he probably doesn’t want to be blogging.

Dude, that music is far from loud - try sticking you head in a stack of 20 LAB Subs.

And how can you not have been to a single gig or rave in your life?!

Tyler– reading this kind of post and seeing these videos always makes me think: You have to get out in the real world more often. I don’t know your about education or life story, but it seems like you’re missing a big chunk of cultural & social knowledge. For example:
- The mobile charging machine– those are everywhere. We’ve all seen ‘em.
- Loud music!? You’ve never been to a concert?
- passing on highways? don’t you ever drive on the highway? Even just for errands, &c.?

If you’re only working a couple of hours a day, why not take some classes at a local college? Or get a part-time job somewhere? I think you’d really benefit from spending more time meeting people, and experiencing the world (beyond the internet & video games).

Any one else find this comment ironic?

I have no idea what you going on about, but…

The mobile charging machine– those are everywhere. We’ve all seen ‘em.
- Personally, I never have either. And I think I get out enough.

Loud music!? You’ve never been to a concert?
- Read his post, duh!?

Passing on highways? don’t you ever drive on the highway? Even just for errands, &c.?
- What the hell are you going on about with this one?

#1 - Same here, never seen one, but I think the idea is hilarious.

#2 - Only been to one concert, and I was way too drunk to remember anything.

#3 - Say What?

I was a bit unclear. Whoops. Nonetheless, the point is this:

Seems to me like Tyler went directly from secondary school to working-from-home — an appealing choice, certainly — and that might have some adverse effects in the long run (exempli gratia: not meeting many people, or working directly with people on a day-to-day basis; not being forced out of his comfort zone to grow & experience the world; not developing basic cultural familiarities & knowledge).

If my original post came off as harsh or combative, I apologise. I have just been noticing this, and wanted to point it out while it can still be addressed.

That looks like fun Tyler. That trojan horse was HUGE. I wish I could’ve seen it up close. The videos are a bit shaky, but still pretty cool.

Thanks!
Ethan

Must’ve been to Vegas 20-30 times and seen most of these things but I still love going there.

I agree with Nikos. You need to stop living like a hermit to see the world more. I mean, you’ve never been to a rock concert? Do you not have any favorite band you want to see live? You should definitely go to more conventions like this.

One last thing Tyler, you need to stop licking your lips all the time.

I’m not a fan of most conventional/popular music so I’ve never had any desire to go to a rock concert. I really like good Jazz though, and attended the Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival in Moscow Idaho.

Oh, and I moved to Korea by myself when I was 19 for a short while, so it’s not like I’m completely oblivious of other cultures. I’ll agree that I could certainly do more travelling though… I just don’t know why you care so much and are complaining…

As for the lip licking and swallowing - I had extremely chapped lips during my stay here in Vegas. I think it’s from my body not being used to the dry heat. In fact, one of the items I remove from my pocket in the cashinator challenge is chapstick.

I don’t think he was complaining. He was making an observation. You are putting your life out there for everyone to see. Expect some criticism.

Was this your first time in the US? I would be interested to here what you did in Korea as well! Keep up the great video posting! By the way what video camera do you use?
