Broke 800 RSS Subscribers!
September 13, 2007 Posted by Tyler CruzRight before heading to bed the other night I decided to refresh my blog to see what my RSS numbers were, since Feedburner seems to update around midnight every day.
I was very pleased to see the following:
That’s right, I hit 808 RSS subscribers! That makes me one happy boy.
My RSS subscribership has been increasing slow but steadily ever since I added Feedburner to my blog nearly one year ago. In 12-months I managed to creep up from 0 to 800.
This isn’t just a one-time spike either. My RSS average has been increasing steadily as well. Not too long ago it was 650 where it actually plateued for a couple months, but ever since around July it has been creeping up again.
It averaged 700 for a while, then very recently 750, and now it seems to be averaging around 775. My new goal is to average 800 RSS subscribers so that I can confidently state that my blog has 800 subscribed readers.
In my opinion, increasing RSS by an average of even 50 subscribers is quite an accomplishment. It helps to mark visually the progress and success of a blog. It’s also fantastic for advertising opportunities, considering networks such as ReviewMe and PPP factor in RSS when rating a blog.
I don’t like to get overly optimistic, but I think I can average 800, then I’ll set a new, higher goal. But first I must reach this one.

You may want to stop posting when your RSS Readers hit a new mark. The next few days after the number is usually less. Today it is at 797.
