How Much Are You Prepared To Pay For Success?

It could be anything from the motor home salesperson at the motor show trying to convince your parents that if only they had this amazing machine they could drive the open road without a care in the world, to blogging newcomers being sold the dream that they could easily be making more than a full-time income online within the first month.
I hate it. These people are being sold false expectations and as soon as they realize things are not as easy as they were told, they start to slack off or quit altogether!
I just want to ask you this one question that has been stuck in my head for over 6 years!
I remember as a teenager obsessed with business and investing constantly asking myself:
“What would I pay to be making $1m a year? what would I give up? What would I start doing?”
Although it may have been a fair fetched dream, it expanded my expectations and ideas started flowing with different ways that I could reach that $1million dollar mark.
Sometimes I think we don’t stop to look at where we have been and look forward to where we are going. WE need to take the time to plan the necessary steps required to succeed.
Personally for myself I am going through this process as we speak. I have just launched my new blog called: StandOutBlogger.com and my goals are to make it a $2,000 a month blog with over 500 subscribers by the end of the year. As well as that I want to be continually launching new blogs and building them up to sell.
Don’t get me wrong, these goals I have set are pretty out there (for me at least), but the reason I set them at that level is because that is the level I can comfortably leave my job to focus on blogging and internet marketing full-time.
But setting the goals is the easy part. Anyone can set goals, however it takes a dedicated person to start planning out how to reach those goals and then start doing it.
I had to ask myself again, “How much do I want this? How much am I prepared to pay?”
My answer was, “As much as it takes!”
I come home from work at about 4pm and if I don’t have anything on I spend as much time building my blog and working on ways to get traffic to it – usually not getting to sleep til 1-2am each morning. I am willing to pay the price to succeed. Are you?
I am willing to spend hours commenting other blogs, submitting my blog to directories and css websites, and spending a heap of time preparing my posts to make sure they will have maximum impact on my readers. I am willing to pay the price to succeed. I am willing to pay for the expertise of a business coach because there’s a lot of pros of online business coaching. Are you?
So let me ask you one last time, “How much are you prepared to pay for success?”

You are right, but you should outsource some work when it is beneficial (ie a money gain to do so)
I definately agree. It is all about using your time efficiently so that you can do more with each day, and if you can do that by outsourcing then for for it!
well, I usually get to sleep at 1am just building my own empire 🙂

I read this post and thought those are some of the greatest questions a person can ask themselves.
Most of the time I fall asleep around 12 midnight – 3am working on my websites, promotion, or learning how to be a better blogger.
I once read somewhere that if you have $100 spend $10 on the product and $70 on marketing of it. But I don’t think your goals are too far to reach since you put full time work into your business.
At first I thought this post was about Tyler, but then I realized it is a guest post 🙂 I think trying to take control of more than 1 blog is a VERY VERY difficult task. Concentrate on ONE blog is enough for me, but starting new ventures is a different story 😉

If you can turn a blog with only 500 subscribers into $2000 a month, you could make a lot more money selling the e-book that tells us how to do it 😉
I have a blog with 16000 subscribers, another with 3000, and others with 600 and 500 respectively, and… if I were making $2000 per 500 subscribers, I’d be on $80k a month by now 🙂

Most of the MMO Gurus make money selling stuff about how to make money…Usually useless stuff. They tell always the same things but they don´t forget to paste some earnings reports
How true it is. I’ve had several people want me to help them make money online, but in the end they didn’t have the commitment to make it happen. I think the thing I should have asked was like you saie “what are you willing sacrifice”?
For inspriation I read alot of biographies of successful businessmen and entrepreneurs. One thing that they all have in common is their dedication and focus to making their project a success. It takes over their lives to a large degree and they work, especially in the early days of their business, every hour god sends – 14,16,18 hour days.
That’s what separates those who do rather than those who don’t. It’s a passion. You have it Tyler and there’s nothing stopping you.

To get successful I would do anything that is right and within my power. Online there are so many sites claiming to get you rich so fast but I believe that nothing comes easily. We have to work hard in order for success to come our way.
