I wish I knew HTML

October 29, 2005 Posted by Tyler Cruz

I wish I knew HTML, and CSS, and Perl, and PHP, and MySQL, and photoshop. But I don’t. It really slows me down, and stops me from getting all my crazy good ideas and dreams to be implemented. Sigh.

Anyhow, today I just did some template work on DF… got a couple guys to help me get the latest threads hack and template system going, I installed the plug-in for active users in the past 24, which with vb3.5’s plug-in system was insanely easy – I’m liking this plug-in system a lot. Edited a header image, some other minor stuff too.

I’m still procrastinating on tackling/finishing this stupid JS error thing on PoFo… god.. I hate that aspect of vB.. it’s a bug.. and ARG it’s annoying blargggggg

Does anyone know how to stop spammers from doing that? 🙁 I’m tired of deleting them.

  2. Re. says:

As far as i know you can’t block it, just delete them.

Hey, about DF, there seems to be a lot of errors there now, I mean the categories are going off the whole body to the right including the header.

    Just to let you know!

    gethin,

Is it still doing that for you?

  5. Gethin says:

    Not any more Tyler 🙂

  6. It is convenient to be able to program and do design work yourself. Still, it is unreasonable to expect to be able to do it all. Even if you could do it all, you likely wouldn’t be a pro at all of it. So it still may be best to hire people to do such work for you. I know how to do a lot of work like that, but it actually holds me back as I get overwhelmed by knowing how much work goes into everything.

  7. A colleague of mine recommended me to check out your blog two weeks ago, since we both enjoy exactly the same stuff (yeah we’re close buddies, similar heads, been more than 32 years) and I seriously got to say that I am majorly impressed. Me and my friend were considering to start an identical webpage like yours, however, we ran into some problems. First, neither of us both is a tech savvy person, 2ndly, we dont really know where to start from. i know alot of people managed to get their Dot Coms on the internet just recently (due to cheap prices, etc) but we are still having problems. I would honestly appreciate it if you recommend to us a place to begin from, because we don’t have an idea lol. Honestly it sucks being 39 year old internet-literate. or should I say DOTCOM literates?
