YouTube Director

I am now a Director at YouTube. What does that do? Mainly it allows me to upload videos over 10-minutes in length, which is most definitely useful. However, it’d be nice if they increased the 100-MB limit as well. In addition to the 10-minute max removal, it also allows me to have more customization on my videos and my channel.

So far I’ve only modified basic things, but it actually allows me to customize colours and such if I wanted. However, I mostly just put in links to my blog for now.

My YouTube channel URL is www.youtube.com/tylercruz for those that care.

Screencast Review

Here’s something new! I haven’t really talked much about anything website-related lately and so I’m trying something new. This is my first screencast. In it, I review a ‘random’ site called MonetizerForums.com.

I had to do a LOT of testing before getting it at where it is now. I had to change my resolution, save the video at a certain quality and such, etc. to balance file size and quality. So what it’s at now is roughly the best you’re going to get unless I want to keep a ton of 100+ MB files on my server.

My screencast wasn’t scripted or anything, I just found a site and went. Let me know what you think of it, if you found it useful/interesting and if you’d like to see more of them. If you have a certain site you’d like to have critiqued, you can e-mail me at tylercruz@gmail.com.

Note: If you’re having trouble hearing my voice, for some reason it sounds a lot louder and clear when listened with headphones. For some reason it just doesn’t out good through speakers, at least mine.

Blog Updates

Just a couple of minor changes:

1. I’ve added a thin black border around photos now. Looks a lot better.

2. I’ve removed yet another blog link. Sigh. So many people promise to post on a regular basis, but the truth is that most blogs die after not very long. Either that or the blogger only updates once or twice a month. Blogging is easier than it looks, people.

Anyhow, that’s all for now. Good luck and good earnings!

  1. Nice review,

As far as the latest forum posts on the home page, I think they work quite most of the time. I personally think it suits this site and also gives it more content filler on the home page.

What software did you use to record with, cheers

He used “Camtasia” to record. Good program, I’ve used it on many occasions.
