PublisherChallenge is now LIVE!

February 7, 2009 Posted by Tyler Cruz

After several months of design and development, PublisherChallenge has finally launched!

I had to delay the original launch date of February 1st because the site was just not ready at that point. I’m glad I made the decision to delay it by a week as the site is working awesome now apart from a few very minor design bugs which will be fixed on Monday.

PublisherChallenge affiliates (formerly from have generated over half a million dollars and in turn we have given away over $10,000 in prizes.

So, go check it out! If you’ve competed in one of my Affiliate Marketing Competitions – past or presents – I’d like to encourage you to sign up for a free account.

PublisherChallenge has finally launched!

Design Bugs and Glitches

There are a few very minor design bugs right now that will be fixed by the programmers on Monday. The issues I’m aware of are:

  • The vertical <p> paragraph spacing in FF is too tall making it look ugly.
  • The <hr> horizontal rule that appears in the Control Panel when logged in is slightly too long.
  • The footer isn’t aligned to the absolute bottom in FF.

If you find any other bugs or issues, please let me know!

Plans for the Future

I won’t go into detail about what new features I have planned for the future, but some of what I’m considering are:

  • A forum
  • A blog/news system
  • Advanced private stats still without needing the affiliate username or password (impressions, CTR, clicks, eCPC, etc.)
  • Optional tracker202 integration
  • Avatar system

Comments and Suggestions

So what do you think? Are there any features or changes you’d like to see? Did you find signing up and adding your affiliate network ID’s to your account easy? Do you think more networks should be added? Let me know!

So you´v already made more than $2000 for the two competitions live right now? Nice start!

To all those who thought it was a terrible idea…what can I say…just watch those stats for yourself!

I´v been a clickbank affiliate for a year now, and I´v have had great success with the network, but I´m about to start with CPA networks…so I´ll definitely register to more than one of your competitions in the near future.

    Wish you great success!

  2. Jay C says:

Congratulations! Site looks amazing. I can’t wait to sign up and start generating revenue! I think other networks should be added as it could greatly improve their companies and income. You’ve already generated over half a million dollars! This site holds big things in the future!

  3. Devon says:

    Nice job.

You’re going to make alot of money from this.

  4. Andrew says:

Congratulations, the design looks quite good. I will register and see if I can win me a new TV.

  5. Congratulations, it looks great!

  6. Carlito says:

Site looks good, just signed up. Everything is very easy and intuitive, good job.

Suggestion though – maybe you should add some sort of security check when we register our AM accounts on the site. Unless I’m mistaken, anyone could pretend to be any one of the ID showing up in your leaderboards…

    • Tyler Cruz says:

Correct. Unfortunately, there is no way for the site to automatically authenticate users. However, this is not a big issue – there is no sensitive information a user can gain by claiming somebody elses account. Essentially they could only give it a screen name.

If a user comes forth and states that they own that account I can have them prove their ownership by simply e-mailing me from the address he signed up to the network with.

In addition, this shouldn’t affect new users as they would be registering through PublisherChallenge and know to claim their accounts right away.

  7. Greg Ellison says:

Your new site looks very good. Hats off to you Tyler. Thanks Greg Ellison

  8. Barry says:

    Awesome work Tyler, looks amazing!

  9. From the quick glimpse I’ve had with it, it looks pretty good so far, the design is pretty slick too =D

  10. Dan says:

Isn’t this a violation of Market Leverage’s Terms and Conditions?

4.2 Prohibited Content. The content of the Publisher Website(s) incorporating any Program(s) may not promote, advocate, facilitate or otherwise include any of the following (“Prohibited Content”):

    (t) Gambling, contests, lotteries, raffles, or sweepstakes;

    • Tyler Cruz says:

Not when you have a separate contract with them for the competition.

Remember, these networks are working with me and I have more than just their simple approval to run the competitions.

  11. Nice work! The site looks really good.

One thing I’m confused about. The rankings for the ML contest show me listed, but I thought old publishers don’t qualify?

Is site just showing stats for everyone but we’re not really eligible, or did ML change their mind for the competition?

    • Tyler Cruz says:

Paul, unfortunately you’re still not eligible… but I’m hoping ML will reconsider removing their New Referrals only rule in March, however.

I’ll speak to my programmers and see about restructuring how the MarketLeverage standings is displayed so that it only displays eligible participants.

Little bugs make good impressions and look nice features.Your programmers did the job! Weii-done!

  13. Typhoon says:

Well I would congratulate you Tyler on this great launch..And i want to ask is that site is having a referral system right now if not i would suggest to add it..
Well first I would sign up for it and move around that site for any bugs and will tell you for sure if I find any..

  14. Chris M says:

Excellent, well done Tyler, I’m heading over to take a look right now!

  15. Hi Tyler, it’s looking good man, good luck with it.

My only suggestion is a small one, make the image which displays step one “Sign-Up (It’s 100% Free)” clickable so it takes the user to the sign up page. 🙂

    Nice one.

  16. Muneeb says:

    wow nice work Tyler 🙂

    Just registered there …

  17. What type of screening are you doing Tyler for the networks you promote through your challenges?

Not all networks are the same and not all are honest – I know this for a fact – so I am just wandering if you look at this or not.

  18. Funny Quotes says:

I saw the website go live last night, and it is really impressive looking. How everything is laid out looks nice. I didn’t get a chance to check out much more of it though but I will probably tonight or tomorrow. Good luck Tyler.

  19. Hi,i applied to Amped M. week ago,but i did not get in(when you started to promote contest).Maybe they will give me a call next week. They are slow 🙂

  20. Luke says:

I have to say Tyler that I am very impressed with PublisherChallenge so far! Hopefully we can get XY7 back in the mix and I can push this to some of my affiliates 🙂

  21. Nice site, Tyler. I like the tabbed options… very good programming on that.

    Tyler —

Site looks very nice. Who did the programming work? How did you go about finding people that could to the programming for you? I’m very curious. Thanks.

  27. Looks neat , hope it does well 🙂

  28. game-girl says:

  29. Classifieds says:

The design looks very good, hope it succeeds

  30. Tyler — The site looks pretty awesome. I’m impressed with the hard work that you put into it. On this blog you should keep us updated with how the site goes and how much $$$ it brings you.

  31. Oh, yeah, and one more thing. How many networks are you planning on having participating in this site? Have you approached any network that didn’t want to be a part of this?

    • Tyler Cruz says:

Preferably I believe 3 to be a healthy number of competitions from different networks to be running at any given time. Too many and it dillutes value to the affiliate networks for exposure and too few and it limits affiliates’s options if they’ve already registered with those networks.

I did contact a couple networks which weren’t interested, yes.

  32. shahin says:

Nice site indeed. I like the colors, very nicely put content. Congrats!

    • Tyler Cruz says:

      Thanks for letting me know.

My programmers just found the issue and fixed it. Somehow the index.php file was modified with an IFRAME at the very bottom of the file linking to several malware viruses and trojans.

I apologize for this, and just sent out my server administration company to look into this further to see how this occured in the first place.

Again, this has been fixed now, but if you notice it again please let me know!

  36. Geiger says:

Seems to be working with no issues warnings now. 🙂

  37. Hey Tyler,
Your site looks great! What a great way to track everyone’s progress & goals in a convenient place! Very well thought out and put together. I like the colors, too. The amount of time & energy you put into this site from what you’ve mentioned to me over the last couple of months was tremendous. Nice job man!
